Made this Board out of maple and purple heart for a gift. The have been becoming very popular with family and Friends. Need to drink more wine if you want one! LOL its fun though right? Takes over 100 wine corks. Enjoy.

The last pics are a set of chess boards I’m making for customers as well. I have not edge banded or made frames as of yet. Maybe today, they requested purple heart and maple as either one of them had ever seen that kind of wood.

Very nice results…I may have to consider using nicer wood on my cork trivets in the future.

The alignment of the chess board squares is perfect! We’ve been saving corks for some time now. I would like to attempt making a board like yours.

The cork chessboard will be a challenge for chess players cause whenever the king topples over does it mean the player concedes the game? ;-) Happy drinking!

Ken nice chess boards, now I know another great use for those wine corks.

Very nice, I sure like the frame with the corks inside! Also, great looking cutting boards.

Great idea. Chess board on one side and corks on the other.
To correct you sideway photos crop them a tiny bit before posting.
