I just finished my latest stain glass project, from a pattern named “Falling Leaves”.
I have made a couple of oak frames for past stained glass projects, but decided to use a different approach to the oak frame on this project.
I ran across a framing method on a web site that sells frame wood stock, and accessories for hanging stained glass. The frame design utilizes a 5/16” wide groove with the tops of the grooves radiused. I figured out how to make this style of frame using my router table.
This method glues and screws the bottom 2 joints of the frame. The top 2 joints are screwed, but not glued….....so you can install and remove the stained glass panel. It also uses brass hooks mounted on the side rails to attach a hanging chain to.
I like this frame methodology and plan on using it for future projects.
To see my Trials & Tribulations on this project, see my woodworking web site.
Thanks!

That’s really great looking. Stained glass is something I’ve always admired.

Love stained glass work and yours is no exception!
You really appreciate the work when the sunlight comes through the stained glass and lights up a room.

Was looking at your projects since I love doing puzzles and games. Ran across this one, very nice stain glass work and the frame sets it off nicely.
