The widow of a dear friend (Penguin’s Progress) asked if I could finish a project that he hadn’t completed. I agreed to try, and have discovered that it’s going to be very difficult to “just fix it”. However, the design doesn’t leave much wiggle room for making a proper job of it without discarding the character of the original craftsman, her maternal grandfather.

<sigh> Guess I’m going to have to ask the Lumber Jocks for advice.

do you know what the broken (upper right) & missing (upper left) pieces look like?

At least you have the lower left to copy for the lower right.

Take your time, and the reproduction can be done. if not a woodcarver, here’s a great way to learn.
