Been seeing a lot a shop helpers and robots and haven’t been able to get up enough gumption to start any thing big so why not build a robot.
When I was a kid The Forbidden Planet had this robot and I have always loved it even though the movie scared the snot out of me back then.
Maybe I can get out there and build something now that I got a robot helper. LOL

This is made with poplar there was no lathe used in this build just the disk sander and drill press, and router.

And I should add left over parts from other builds.

Great imagination and a nice job on it! I used to do all my “turning” with the drill press. I now bought that cheapie lathe at H-F and love it.. BUT it is only for small jobs!

That looks fantastic! I didn’t realize that I needed a shop robot until now. Nicely done.

#4, Now that is neat & cute.

However, without eyes, how do you know if he’s ignoring you and eyeing off a shapely bolt?

PS. Now you’re showing your age… Wasn’t Forbidden Planet a silent B&W slideshow presentation before robots were invented and roamed the universe unsupervised?

Very nice job. The turnings turned out very good.

Perhaps I am wrong, which is often the case according to my wife, but I thought this robot was on “Lost in Space”. Not that a young buck like me would know that.

Program him to do the clean up. Nice work on the robot.

Pointer I think he turned out looking a little bet of both robots of the movie and the tv show.

Hey Dutchy, when did your English improve? Just noticed your missing signature tag line…

Brilliant way to remember and pay homage to a classic sci fi robot…
