I normally do not like to stain wood, but these two truly ” NEEDED IT ” in order to bring out the patterns of the grain that came out while I was sanding. So again these are from a Neighbors house. We trimmed the Lilac bush and I just hate throwing out usable wood. The ring is made from the same wood and is my first one.. Hopefully I can sell it along with the cane.

These really look different with the stain. Beautiful grain patterns.

If you’ll pardon the pun, I think this looks much more finished than it did before, as you’ve brought out the grain nicely here, which seemed to be lacking before… it was a bit one-dimensional, or flat before, but not anymore!

Jonathan that is just why I did it. You could only see the grain up close. I used a mahogany colored stain. Even the picture does not do the grain justice at all! Thanks for the support.
