I haven’t been on LJ’s for quite awhile. When I transferred my images from my old PC, I had an over abundance of duplicate images. (Thousands)
Looking through my files, this Owl was missing, so I took some new pictures of it. It’s funny that I’d never posted this carving, I thought I did.
This is one of my first carvings, & I never dated it, but it was done in the late 70’s, or early 80’s.
A lesson learned, always sign, & date your work, because using your memory isn’t good enough.
The pattern was in an early issue of Wood magazine , but they don’t seem to have an index going back that far. Maybe someone can find it, I couldn’t. It was a very good relief carving lesson

That’s a fine carving, Dick!
I was beginning to wonder if you’d fallen off the planet. :-)

Thanks for sharing a project from the early years.
I think you will like the iMac. I really like my MacBook but would like a bigger screen.

The contrast of the owl in relief and the old grey board is really nice!

That good looking owl. Date everything, great recommendation and if you have duplicate pics they should always be on another hard drive not attacked to your computer in case of catastrophic failure.
