A close friend ( 81yo) was recently diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and it had already moved to vital organs. Already in assisted living she opted for no further treatments and is enjoying what time is left.
She had previously decided to be cremated and I made 2 urns for her to choose from. I only did this because she has enjoyed many of my creations in her abode. I haven’t presented either one yet as I am a total whimp in that area.
Here is one, it is cherry and I was lucky enough to have a sap wood edged board that wrapped 360 degrees and appears never ending. I hope the pictures show adequately.

A very kind gesture Dick, I’m sure she will appreciate the love you put in this project. If you can make yourself approach the subject with her perhaps her loved ones will also appreciate your kindness when the need arises.

You are a good friend to be so thoughtful and considerate. I too would be reluctant to present it to her, kind of saying the end is near, but you still want her to know what you did for her. That’s a tough one.
