I took a break from posting my projects because of so much frustration with my finishes, I’m gonna break down and buy some finishing dvd’s and stop being in such a rush. This a 15in Dayton reference sub purchased from parts-express. The interior of the box is measured to a precise 3.45 cubic feet and port tuned to 23hertz. This box is made from Poplar although I wished i could have sprung for a heavier more dense wood type. The bottom is almost 3inches thick 24×20 and the sides are 13/16in.
Although I’am very pleased with the whole house shaking abilities of this sub I made a critical mistake during final glue-up, the speaker opening hole is supposed to be offset to the front not next to the plate amp.

Great job! I made mine with a 15 inch JBL driver from Parts Express. Used MDF amd just painted it because the subwoofer is hidden from view. Used 4 inch PVC pipe for tuning duct. I made another with the 12 inch Titan. Both really rock but the JBL seams to have a tighter bass. Have you made another speakers? Parts express is always offering up plans for new designs. I wish I had the money to buy the drivers for each, just to have the fun of building different designs. Also, on both subs I did not mount the subwoofer amp in the case, but I remote mounted it so I could easily adjust it. One day I want to put a subwoofer in an end table or coffee table.

I plan on making front right and center channel speakers to match. I think the overnight sensations looks like a good way to start because its explained so well on this web page http://sites.google.com/site/undefinition/overnightsensationmtm
