The music stand is for my church music director to use when directing the sanctuary choir. The oak and the fluted stand are taken from the architecture and design of the sanctuary. The mechanics of the stand are my interpretation of what I garnered from seeing what other LJs have done with similar projects. Many thanks to you all for your generous sharing attitudes and actions.

Really neat, now I have a new project to get to. My friend is building my son a flat top fiddle or a classical violin, depending on how the violin goes together as this is his first attempt at that, as my son plays viola. So it sure would be cool for him to have a custom stand to go with his custom instrument.

That stand sure looks beautiful.

BTW, could you share a closeup of, or explain how, you made the pivot for the sheet music holder? Thanks in advance.

Beautifully done. Mechanically pleasing. Now going to church will remind you of what a great woodworker you are!

Great music stand. The fluting really stands out and the top portion where the music rests looks terrific.
Good job!

Thanks, I had a great time building it. Erik, not only did the mechanics give me a fit, I adjusted and finetuned, even abandoned some ideas to get to the end. As for the number of hours, less than a thousand on the actual finished project, but if you count in the peices and parts I set aside…....

This is a very nicely designed music stand. It looks like it is will made. You did a great job building it. I would have made it all out of stained wood. I think the white takes away from the rest of the stand. LOL Thats just me. I am sure everybody loved it and that is all that matters.

God Bless
