I made this for my wife’s 50th birthday. She’s always been very supportive of my woodworking hobby so it only made sense to give her a homemade gift. I had some walnut scraps leftover from the spice box I built last winter to use as a thin piece of contrast with the oak and maple. The back of the frame is beveled at approx 22 degrees and I cut a slot to accept a 3” piece to act as a stand. I got carried away and went ahead and made my own fasteners for the back panel…. just for fun.
Thanks for looking!

You did a beautiful job on this frame and that artwork looks very nice in it.

Lots of nice features here!

The maple works perfectly as a matting substitute and the stand is quite simple, functional, and clever.

Very nice 8^)

Wow. Really eye catching. That piece of walnut is a very nice feature and draws attention.

Have your say...
