This project is two 7’ by 25” by 12” bookshelves to I had the pleasure of completing for a fellow woodworker that passed just after cutting the side panels and back panels. All I had to go on was what I got in the attached napkin drawing and his daughter ( who I am making it for) saying ” its a corner shelf thingie”

I used the back panels for width and he side panels depth. The rest was a mix of trying trying to match existing decor and use the lumber provided. He had milled two dados in the side panels so those are fixed shelves. The rest of the shelves are adjustable.

The stain is a first for me it’s a tintable mnwax stain in the brown/red hue. Once it dried I went it with an ebony glaze. Finished with wipe on poly and wax.

Note to self: Leave detailed plans on all unfinished projects in shop, yeah righ.
To me this is exactly why I do woodworking. I hope I made him proud on the final project for his daughter.

Great job. And great heart. Woodworking is a community of caring people for the most part and your doing this for his daughter shows it.

Nice work with the build, and for being a good character in the story of others.

Nice completion build.
Love the detailed Sketchup drawing.
Well done.

good looking shelves and a great back story too! I’m sure she is very happy with them.

Added storage is always a great thing, especially when it looks like this
