This is my 4th case and wanted to make me some template boards for future cases. (Last picture)
I have made mine with 45 angle cuts them sides are at 18 3/4 and the bottom is at 24 1/4 which has seemed to work well with a tightly folded flag. There are some flags that are folded little larger at times.

I cut in slots for my plexiglass and dado out for the back panel.

After initial glue up I then placed in some splines of Purple Heart just for extra strength.

I leave the film on the glass while applying my final coat even with some extra tape.
  • One big problem on this one I had some of my finish leak under the tape unexpected. I used paste wax with some cleaner to polish out the plexiglass and it worked fine.

The back panel is traced out from inside of box and just 1/4” birch ply.

The case looks nice and the wood is pretty. I have made several and prefer to make them with all 45’s.
