A friend of mine that I built a cooler box asked if I could build a matching pallet bar for his patio. Finding the pallets for free proved to be the difficult part. After that it was a matter of lots of cutting and sanding he wanted the L shape design with a spot for the cooler box to sit. The sink he just wanted to put ice and stuff in keeping with the rustic theme I used a galvanized bucket from the hardware store. I added a drain setup where it can either go into a bucket or hookup a hose to it and drain on the lawn. The added challenge was the patio is sloped to allow for rain water to run off. To level the bar I built brackets and added leveling feet to all seven feet similar to what goes on a refrigerator. I built the foot rail I like the added touch to it. I finished it off by routing in a spot to set in horseshoes to the top branded the front and finished it off with three coats of urethane finish. The front of the bar is six feet long and the short side is four feet.

That is a great rustic bar. Both the wood and bar turned out beautifully.

The 1st pallet project I’ve seen that didn’t look like a pallet project. Most are obvious even if they don’t say it’s pallet boards. Excellent re-purposing of material.”Impressive”
