I was never satisfied with the way I had organized the router bits. I tried different ways to store them. I like the CMT system, but wouln’t spend money on it. One of the requirements was the possibility to change the setup when necessary.

I used 18 mm plywood. I also made a grid from 75 mm (3”) in my drawer. The grid is divided in 25 mm (1”) parts. It is easy to change the layout when needed. It is made for all shanks and diameter router bits.

Hopefully the pictures make clear what I mean.

Looks fantastic! I’m very much a fan of ‘build to fit’ vs generic CMT system.

That is neat. I like the “modularization” of it in 1×3 increments.

Unfortunately how would I get any exercise if I built one. Currently my router bits are scattered all over my workshop.
