Built this project to match to existing cabinets and bookshelves. The third picture is an existing cabinet that was matched by updated for the tv console.
Teak is a hard wood to work with, the plywood is 225.00 dollar a sheet and the hardwood is 27.00 a board foot so there was no room for error. The plywood is one face teak and the back is secondary wood. This created challenges of grain and side orientation. One way it was solved was by inlaying ceramic tiles in the top surface the the tv sits on as show in the forth picture.
A second challenge was color matching a 20 yr old laminate teak cabinets shown in he third picture. After much research the answer was gunstock and a touch of red mahogany.
All the sliding door track and hard had to be mad by hand as they were not available to purchase.
It was about a 12 hour project in which I grew as a woodworker.
