Had a 4’ piece of poplar that had been hanging around for a few years and needed a busy project.
The dimensions are 12”x5×6. I usually make butt joints but this time I cut the sides at 45 degree angles. I rabbeted the bottom to accept a 3/16” oak laminate sheet. Some glue and pin nails with 2” brass hinges and voila! ;0)
The finish is natural oil with a wax coating.
