Candy Dispenser [Kids Project]

During a random trip to the library with my daughter, we picked up the book Build it with Dad for her to “read”. While she was perusing it, I suggested she pick a project we can make together. She picked the candy dispenser.

So this Sunday afternoon, I helped the kids build their candy dispenser. A few pieces of random scrap wood (a stray pre-primed 1×6, a short piece of 2×2 poplar, and 3/8” dowel), pilfered mason, glue, and 2 screws was all it took. The kids were proud to have helped with some basic measuring, glue spreading, and clamping. A simple project that kept the kids entertained for a good hour and a half, but will leave memories to cherish for a lifetime.

PS: Scribble “finish” courtesy of the kids helping with layout marks.

Nice way to get the kids interested in woodworking. Your project turned out very nice! From the expression on the little girls face I would say they were both thrilled with their new candy dispenser! Nice work kids!
