I used bolder colors this time compared to the picture a few weeks ago. I always have to make changes for what ever reason. After the lacquer is dry for a day or two I rub every piece out with 0000 steel wool and I use a product called Wool Wax rubbed in to the steel wool. Don’t have that you can use Johnsons Paste Wax instead. Your customers will be more pleased with the smooth feel these two products produces. All these colors are printers ink. She was cut out with a scroll saw and a Dremel with a flexible shaft and carbide tipped bits and a diamond bit to remove the burn marks and to smooth the wood somewhat before I did the hand sanding. I don’t own any hand held knives. Too old for that kind of work.. The wood, I” thick maple with 1/4” Baltic Birch backer board to glue the pieces on and I left the one continuous piece all the way around the outside for the border. I think one of the pictures show the finish before I rubbed them out and the others are after they got smoothed down. Most of the colors are the same stains on both pictures where the last picture was full strength. A person can get all kinds of shades out of just one color!!!!

Hmmmm, that sure looks familiar. No matter how many times I see her though, she remains absolutely gorgeous.

Gene Howe, I was so lazy the other day I decided to show the second girl over here. I think with the changes she turned out better than the first….
