Fibonacci gauge made of figured maple and cased in brass. I wanted a high polish on the brass but I figured out it is near impossible to do without getting brass swarf embedded in the maple. The plates were already pinned in place so I couldn’t do anything about it. If I ever do it it again I’ll polish then pin the plate. I’ll just have to pein them on and leave the pins proud like rivets and put a plastic washer in the pivot point so it doesn’t hit the plate across from it.
Finished with BLO and wax.
Narrow marking knife in walnut and brass with hss blade. Man, hss is a pain to work :) I wish I could’ve spent more time on it but it is what it is.
Note to self: for the next swap, don’t wait til the last minute :)
Buckbuster31 was my swap recipient and I hope he can get some good use out of them.
Thanks

Those look really great, love the brass on the gauge. What is a Fibonacci gauge used for?

Nice looking tools!
The figured maple looks really good for the Fibonacci gauge.
Even if HSS is a pain to work, the marking knife is pretty!

Thanks
Bob, It has a 1:1.618 ratio at all times. Comes in handy when using the golden rule for drawing up and laying out.
