Plant Stand

This is a little plant stand I was commissioned to make that had to be 12×12 x 36 high and out of cherry. I have a ton of oak and walnut but not any cherry so the wood I was able to buy had sap wood in it and the customer okayed the use of it in the product. So I tried to give it a little character by interspersing it in the stand.

The third shot shows the assembly with the long spindly legs. I thought it was a bit unstable so I added a shelf and it tightened it right up. The last shot is a process shot of doweling the aprons.

It is cherry wood and finished with satin poly.

Cheers, Jim

Very GOOD, Jim!

Not only did you strengthen it, you made room for another plant! :)

Doweling the aprons and pocket holes will keep her standing tall for quite some time. Sapwood on cherry is like chocolate on icecream, beautiful. Great build Jim.
