My Bishop wanted a map of our Ward area, and also some magnetic white board where he and the Ward leadership could manage the organization and plan activities with some mag strips. This is the result. Two frames, made of red oak, joined at one edge by a piano hinge. Hung with a French cleat. Mitered half lap joinery with brass corner braces for added strength. Heavy duty window sash lock at the bottom keeps some of the weight off the hinge when it’s not in use.
