Granddaughter Alayna just turned three, so I wanted to make her a special box, but I couldn’t think of a design, until it occurred to me that every time she comes over she asks me to watch “Frozen” with her. Not being nearly artistic enough to make either of the princesses, I decided to follow the song… “Do You Wanna Build A Snowman”. So here is my effort at making Olaf. The body is maple, with ebony buttons, eyes, and eyelbrows. The nose… padauk. The drawers were flocked with brown flocking, and the arms and hair are brown pipe cleaners.

Adorable! Don’t be surprised if you get desperate requests from the parents of all her friends. She may need a snowflake necklace to put in it, but you can leave that task to mom and dad.

Hey Sandy. You really used your imagination on this one. Very creative, original, whimsical and ‘m sure she’ll cherish that gift forever.

@Jim…. I have to be whimsical, as I have nowhere near the woodworking ability and talent that you have.
@woodshaver Tony… Thank you for the kind comment… and get to work on a couple for your granddaughters.

As a fellow grandfather, I applaud you!! In my opinion this type of project is better than any fine furniture pieces shown.
