I was asked to build this custom table that sits a hair above the counter and movable so that it can be used close to the counter for breakfast and homework, but also turned out for larger gatherings for people to stand around and socialize.
This was my fist table build and I learned a pile! The customer wanted hard maple stained dark for durability. Joinery was mortis and tendon for the base and I used table z clips to attach the top to the base. Finish I used was Osmo wood wax applied with a scotch bright pad 2 coats followed by Osmo top oil for the legs and base I matter popped for a darker look.
