A friend of mine wanted 4 flower boxes for her barn.
It took me a while to come up with a plan. I didn’t want the boxes themselves to hold the soil and retain water, so they are open on the bottom. I used plastic planters as a liner and a couple cross pieces to support the liners. Gave me a chance to practice my mortises. The corners are box joints. Ceder splits easily, so I covered the corners with trim. Also ran trim around the top.
They are mounted to the barn with cleats, so they are simple to remove.
Didn’t get a close up with them on the barn. She needs to put gutters up or something as the roof runoff drops onto the flowers.
