Hi Everyone, I am still making cedar boxes even though I have’nt posted in a while. Thought I would post this one since the top is a different style. The top is made of six exotic hardwoods cut to 1/8” strips and glued together then cut to lenght several times to get the width needed. It is 1/2” thick. Most of you can see the various woods used. The top and bottom of the box is wrapped in red cedar while the body of the box is made of brown cedar with purpleheart and cocobolo splines. Made the lid lift out of a piece of leftover laminated top. The inside does not have any finish so the cedar aroma is fresh. Box is 8”X5 1/2”X4 1/2”. The finish on the outside is two coats of lacquer. Thanks for looking and have a great day.
-- Donnie-- listen to the wood.
