this rocker is called the Iowa Rocker, its NOT a Glider! This is what my shop is famous for building, i know i have shipped a Iowa Rocker to every state in the US, except Hawaii. Made to size for large or small folks. The bronze hangers are cast for me at Denton castings in Brandon Iowa, i own the mold that they cast with. there are 8 sealed high speed bearings in the base of the rocker that the hangers fit into. this assures a smooth, quiet, effortless rocking motion.

Sweet! Nice looking and a unique rocking system makes it extra special! I’ll bet it’s very comfortable also!

Wow, that’s really cool. Thx for sharing, and clarifying that it’s NOT a glider.

I have a platform rocker that was my Grandmother’s, and also hate it when people call it a glider – it does not glide it rocks. I like the design of yours, is that third photo Walnut? It looks beautiful. Thanks for posting.

Rance,
Really neat! Great looking and I would imagine comfortable too.
A couple questions: What is the price for a Iowa Rocker? Do you sell plans and the casting parts to build one?

The average price for my rockers is $775.00, that would vary a little depending on the wood used. Burl Walnut would be over a $1000.00. I have no plans that I use, each rocker is built to size for my customers. I have sold just the bronze hangers for the folks who want to try building their own chair, those run $15.00 each.
