A guy contacted me about wanting a special build. He wanted a seat for his dog on his motorcycle. He had looked online and found plenty of them for small dogs but nothing he could use. He has a big Yamaha bike with full dress saddlebags and all. His dog, Pepper, is a real sweetheart, but she is a German Shepherd. I took some measurments on the bike and the dog and worked up an estimate he could live with to build the seat and make a harness for pepper. Here is the results of this build. My client, his wife, and Pepper are friends of mine for life now. They are thrilled with the seat and Pepper loves her Biker Bitch leather vest. I am a little worried though, the wife is about to graduate college and is planning on getting her own bike…......she has Benjy, a full grown golden retriever. Big ass dog to build a seat for! Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as Pepper enjoys her ride.

Great work papadan. That is one lucky dog.

Nice job but did you miss the Project preamble?

Yes, I want to post my finished project that is made of wood If it doesn’t fit the above description (like tool gloats & upgrades, wood gloats, projects in progress etc.),
either blog it or post it in an appropriate forum. Otherwise it will be removed.

Thanks Rich and Lew! Robert, this project is built out of Baltic Birch plywood, instead of staining or painting it, I chose to finish it in leather!

My chuckle for the day, Dan. Yeh!!!

I knew there was wood in there, cause that’s what woodworkers do.

Still slaving away on the table, base is done, on to the top. Whew!

If anyone wants proof of how I built this, I do have a couple pieces of scrap ply left and one even has the scarf cuts I made to bend the ends. Of course showing that would not prove anything about this build and I am not about to disassemble it, because I don’t care to prove myself to anyone. A simple visit to see my shop and what I am working on at any given time will suffice to prove my abilities. I only post a small percentage of my creations anyway and now I probably wont bother to post any more. Damn… dejaveou… some years ago I deleted all my projects and shop pics because of wise guys that are jealous of other peoples abilities! I started posting them again because of all the complaints about not having any. Can’t please some people no matter what I do!

papa don’t let anyone rattle you or your abilities you don’t have to prove anything to know what you do,so please keep doing it and share with us because it would be a shame not too.yes there are a few people here that will test our strength and will as has mine, actually you opened my eyes to some of it one late evening that I wish to leave forgotten!so keep it coming and I will support your efforts my friend, peace.
