First time planter box I made with my son. We used 2×4s for the frame and old pallet wood for the slats in the center, with a 1×6 on top. Stained and clear coated. This is my second ever project so learned all kinds of do’s and dont’s with this one. Any comments or suggestions are always wanted. I plan on building a second one and attaching a bench between the two.

Really nice looking. Maybe you should join our sister site Garden Tenders if you also enjoy gardening. I’m sure many there would like to see your planter box too.

Really nice, how many coats of stain did the pallet wood need? I am thinking of making boxes that will hold 5 gallon self watering container so I can put veggies and fruits in them and wanted to stain the boxes but feared it would numerous coats of stain.

Have your say...
