While the wood may be exotic, this was actually a cost-saving project. Menards/HD/Lowes wanted anywhere from $300-$700 for solid wood bypass closet doors. My wife and I are redecorating our bedroom with the pale blue/chocolate brown color scheme you see in the bedspread in the first photo. Previously we had gold bordered mirror panels that looked cheap and rested in a track underneath (as opposed to hanging). I purchased the necessary leopardwood for about $120, Heavy duty sliding door hardware for $15, and the mirror panels were $75 all cut to size. So for a little over $200, I got probably the only leopardwood closet doors in Wisconsin. It will really go well with the tropical vibe we are shooting for. Broke all the edges and sanded to #320. Finish is 3 brushed coats of ArmRSeal satin and this stuff looks like snake skin.

Awesome! It does look really tropical. I saw some leopardwood in person today for the first and also thought it looked like snake skin. What a great use for it.
