Live Edge Maple Trestle Table

Time for another dining table project for one of my son’s. This one was to be a live edge table but he wanted an original design base. The third pic shows the model I built to get approval on the design, as well as a segmented bowl made from leftover bits – 1:12 scale.

I paid particular attention to picking the wood for the stretcher, we wanted an arc to it so I picked a piece with a natural curve and used the two outside edges to make an interesting curve. The stretcher is held in place by bench bolts and they are covered by a false end cap held in place with magnets.

man that is sweet!i think that’s the first live edge stretcher ive seen,and I like it!nice work.
