I made this writing desk for my personal use out of reclaimed lumber from an old window frame made of Indian rosewood. The first two pics show the finished project, while the remaining 4 are in various stages of the project. The most challenging part of the project was to fill the various holes left from the joinery and fasteners in the frame. Nails had to be removed carefully before the pieces could be cut. The other challenge was to flatten and join the pieces to make the table top.

Mostly hand tools were used in the project, with the exception of a makeshift table saw for re-sawing and a sander for polishing. The places in the table top are clearly visible where old mortise holes have been plugged using wooden blocks hand cut and filed to size. I have not tried to hide these marks, because I think they give character to the table!

nice clean lines, and a great re-purpose of the wood. Thanks
