Finished up a fun project, after seeing this on another site, I had to give it a try. It’s Maui’s hook, made from glued up pieces of 2×4. Marc was kind enough to provide the pattern and I cut it out on the band saw, and shaped it by hand using a wood rasp since I do not have a side grinder like he used in the video. I also decided to wrap the handle with leather instead of using rope. The images were burned using a woodburning tool. The grandkids were very excited about it, so I am pleased with the results.

Cool! But you don’t need my approval if the grandkids have already passed judgement. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice. I love the burning. I have made several of these, but much smaller.

Now to figure out what wall it has to hang on.
