Here are the results from a fun little project I did for some neighbors. They asked me to make some coastal themed trivets for them. I came up with a starfish, a sand dollar, and a basic shell. I used a scroll saw, bench top belt sander, router and the drill press with forstner bits.

I used Oak, Maple, Walnut, Sapele, and Cherry. Each piece was finished with just a quick coat of Watco Danish Oil. I wasn’t sure what to use because of the heat from the items that will be placed on them so we will see how it goes. If anyone has recommendations on how to finish these, please let me know.

They are between 7 – 8 inches in diameter. I have 40 more to make and this has been a fun relaxing project.

Thanks for looking ~ Drew

So different and unique! I like the variety of shapes and colours.

Great job Drew!
