Last year my parents got a pair of new arm chairs, but they way they had them positioned with one another and against the wall, left an awkward triangle shaped gap between them. They picked up a cheap particle board table that really didn’t fit from Kmart and hinted maybe I’d someday make something.

Last fall I was over there and while they were out of the room I took a bunch of measurements and got to work in the shop. Showed up on Christmas Eve with a giant bow on it and they had totally forgotten about the project. They loved not having to constantly move the chairs out of the way to pick up remotes and pens and things that kept falling down.

It is mostly red oak “pallet wood” with a few pieces of something I couldn’t identify mixed in because I ran short. The apron is rabbeted around the top and the legs are rabbeted into the apron. Getting all the angles was very tough and was very glad I have my track saw. Finished with a stain and a 3 coats of lacquer.

Great table, Ben. I love it when projects are made for a purpose like that and fit so well when completed….......nice work!!!

Cheers, Jim
