This table is handcrafted from a large slab of old mesquite; it is 48” long by 25” wide and 18” high. The legs are hand forged from truck axels. The piece is finished with marine varnish to protect it in the sun. It is intended for a patio but could also be used for an indoor display. Mesquite is a premier hardwood known for it’s stability, durability, and beauty. I’m giving this table to my niece who is getting married in a couple of weeks.

Sure do love Mesquite and it goes well with the metalwork that you like. What a great present for your niece.

Out of curiosity, did you hand plane the surface?

Cheers, Richard

Beautiful piece of wood and the legs look awesome as well ! Are the black areas natural inclusions or are they filled with something ? Do you have any close-up photos of the top and legs ?
