Very interesting and informative! Thanks for sharing. I note the wood blocks in the background that are a work of art.

Thanks for that great tutorial Derek. I have been wanting 1/8" chisel for some time, so maybe your tutorial will push me over the edge. I am also glad to hear that you do your honing by hand. I have been preaching hand honing since I learned how to do it a couple of years ago. It is so easy and quick that everybody that can should.

This is great, the other hobby I'm starting into is blacksmithing. Not completely traditional but the basics. Chisels and cutting tools could become part of the new hobby. Thanks for the blog, it's already in favorites. BTKS

You, my friend, are a genius. I'm going to make a small blade holder of my own. Call me stupid, but it never occurred to me to squeeze it into the standard Tormek iron jig. Wonderful. My weekend plans just change.

Hi Dennis

There is no problem as I can tell. The server may be down for maintenance, as they all do at least monthly (mine is based in the USA).

JRL and Bertha … many thanks for your kind words. Don't forget to search my site for more ideas. Plus there are furniture building work-alongs (WIPS) I post and update every week or so.

Regards from Perth

Derek
