A little Eucalyptus Table on a skip-found steel frame

A few months ago I found a little X-legged table frame at the skip at the end of our street. Yes, there was a little bit of rust, but other than that it was in good order. A few years ago, a friend cut down a few Eucalyptus trees and kindly saw the the last 2 meters vertical in to slabs.. a bit wobbly but thick enough to get some decent size boards.
This week I combined the two and made a little table… because there was one crack in the end of the slab I made a 4cm thick inlay in the end grain, filled it up with a piece reclaimed meranti and used beech dowels to hold everything together. The wood got one coat of “nilzone” and a few coats of wax.
