Stuff I make for bagpipes.. Not trying to sell here.. just what keeps me busy in the shop. I still use hand tools and normal woodshop tools. Lot’s of angles on this little item.. Nothing is 90degrees.. Sell them around the World, which is cool. Yes, I play too.

In between making these, I make all kinds of furniture. Next up is a memorial garden style bench in memory of my brother who passed 3yrs ago. Think that shall be my 1st project for here. Have a set of norms plans but will modify.

Anyways, just a few shots of my bagpipe cradle. shop photos, lumber yard.. That is a 16” x 12’ board of Maple. I snatched it up! The rest is mine too! I do not use glued boards.

Thanks for looking!

Very cool, Peter! That’s something we’ve never seen before. It looks like it stands up, like a music stand – is that right?

Yes, it is mounted to a music style stand I get direct from a company.. but the stand has to be modified as well.
Later on this month, I will have a all wood stand/wood cradle version. Something I’ve been working on for some time. Still deciding on sliding dovetail legs or half lap joint. I look at the picture and it’s hard to see all the angle lines, etc.

The finish on this one is a water based dye, water based laquer from Sherwin Williams. Kem Aqua which I don’t think you can get in the stores. I got a huge 5gallon bucket of this stuff direct from a distributor. All shot with HVLP.

R-W – notice those angle clamps! I have since epoxy them in.

Great project. My son plays the bagpipes also. I’ll have to see about making something similar.
