Hello All,
Not much wood in this project but, I thought some might like seeing this.
I have always wanted a chisel plane and after running across some of the high-end plane websites, I was inspired and thought, what the heck, I will give give it a try.
Body is made from 303 stainless steel and was machined on an old (circa 1930s) bench top mill I inherited.
Brass knobs I turned on my wood lathe with a cross slide that I adapted to it.
Wood knob is Bocote.
If anyone thinks this is too much of a metal working project, please feel free to remove.
Thanks,
Tom T

It’s got a wooden handle/knob, my vote it counts.
Gorgeous plane, you’ve got a knack and an eye for this.
Well done,
Quik

It clearly belongs! Nice work. Tool makers should be encouraged.

The only thing better than doing fine work with exquisite tools, is when you made the tools yourself.

Fantastic, gorgeous…
How is the handle size if working into a corner?
Know for the killer question. How well does it do the job.
