Let me be the one to start the next 10,000 pen posts. These are made from 30/06 cartridges that have already been fired. I drilled these and installed the tubes. The tops are made from Red Alder, Padauk, Cedar, and Black Walnut. They were turned, sanded to 600 grit, had five coats of ca/blo applied without any sanding in between, and buffed with White Diamond and wax.

I’ve had some trouble with the new kits. I can’t imagine doing one from scratch. These look very nice. A “how to” on this would make a great blog entry. Time to do some googling.

Now that is creative. Those would be very popular down here where hunting is as popular as breathing.

Ray your pens are great. Also the boys down here in texas would clean out your 30-06 shell pens.

Thanks, on some of the shell pens I put a 30-30 on the top and 30-06 on the bottom end. These seem to be more popular than the ones with the wood. Michael I was surprised to see a quote from Helen Keller from someone in TX. We live about 10 miles from the Helen Keller Birthplace in Tuscumbia AL
