A cousin donated a box full of Mahogany cut-offs to me last fall for “playing around” with in my various wood adventures. Here’s my first project from that box of wood, which is going back to him as a Thank You for his kind donation.

WOW. I’ll bet it took longer to make the box(which I really like) than the pens (which are really nice too).

Thanks guys, and RT, yes it took a LOT longer on the case!
It’s the first time I’ve routed holes that had to be precisely placed. I had to re-plane the lid several times over the course of a month as it kept twisting a little following it’s separation from the main block. Once it stopped twisting, I proceeded with the routing of cavities and mortising of the hinges. And the shaping was mostly thought up as I progressed through the creation of the case.
