I have twin granddaughters that are simply the light of my life. I made for Alexis a custom trunk from birch plywood and trimmed in cherry. A set of 3” fixed casters on one end and a little time on the lathe turning the bun feet and handles, makes it pretty easy to move around. The saddle support is cherry and has a secret compartment underneath. A mirror behind a removable panel for last minute checks before an event. All components are removable for flexibility and can store inside the box. I finished it with a Cabot product called AustralianTimber Oil. Her hug and sheer joy were worth a million bucks to me.

I really like this project. I spent years in 4-H as a kid and would have loved to have a tack box like this one.

Have your say...
