Found a Hock Iron hiding in the shop and decided to make a small block/smoother plane. Rosewood cheeks with Maple Infill and brass pin (after I messed up the carved Maple cross pin), Made the bed angle about 38 degrees hoping to get some Low Angle cut effect? Cuts okay but think I prefer my Veritas DX60 on end grain! Rubbed in a couple of coats of Veritas French polish to seal with wax on the sole.

Beautiful Andre. I’ve been thinking about making a plane but haven’t had the courage to tackle it. This is a really fine looking piece of work. Congratulations!

Looking great Andre! I’m going to get started making some more planes as soon as I finish my tool chest.
Have your say...
