Once a month we make homemade pizza around here so a quality rolling pin was something we needed. Its made from a kit and a rolling pin blank I picked up from woodcraft. The kit comes with a steel rod, two bearings, and 4 bushings (one for both sides of each bearing). The kit was $22 dollars and everything seemed of good quality and it rolls very smooth, but if any of you are thinking of making one of these I would recommend just buying a stainless steel round and some bearings to fit it and you can cut your cost in half at the least.
The maple part is 12” long with a 4” diameter. The dalmata handles are 5” long and the total length is 22”. The finish is butcher block conditioner soaked in deep.
