Happy Easter, He is Risen! What a time for Christians! And with the extra day off of work, the shop time was there to make a few things that I want to share with you my Lumberjock friends!

First is the small rolling pin that I flattened the bottom and saw grooved the top so that it holds reciepe cards or notes. Painted the handles red, but is is all one piece. The laminate wood is one that we call Cayenne.

The second project is a weird one, we have a local Amish store that sells used stuff, and is a great place to find odd stuff. We bought a full box and a half (around 15) of candle shade/holder. We beieve that they are all brand new but in a very old box. We also believe that they are from what my wife calls “Princess House”, and that would make them Crystal. In any case they were cheap, and with some free scrap walnut wood I made this bottom to hold it. It turned out very well, and I am glad that we bought all of it. This was a friction finish, but it got so very shiney this time.

3rd project is shown on my new Jet 1220VS lathe in it’s start. A 16 inch Hot Pink Billy Club. The black rings are painted black paint that was finished over with a tough conversion varnish, as was the rolling pin. It is hard to beat a sprayed conversion varnish.

I want to thank all of you for viewing and reading these projects. And I hope that all of you have spend some time thinking about what Easter is really about. Thanks for reading!

Fantastic Mike. Wonderful idea on the candle holder. Also like the recipe card holder. Would make a nice business card holder for a cook. I like the use of your imagination to come up with new ideas.

Keep it up.

HE is RISEN indeed. Glad your day in the shop turned out better than mine.
