Hey guys

The wife and I designed the bed since our son loves to color
The head and foot boards are made of tongue and groove wood attached together and fixed to a plywood frame
The headboard is hung on the wall using a french cleat
The footboard is attached to the met bed frame with carriage bolts

I just started woodworking so the crayon tip profile took some time to cut out exactly
Used a ig saw and orbital sander for the first one then jigsaw to get a close enough replica which was then finalized with a trim router with a flush trim bit for the remaining 8 crayon tips

Painting was the most time consuming largely because of waiting for the paint to dry before moving on

Turned out almost exactly as we had imagined and my son loves it

Looks GREAT. That’s a lot of work there. Nice job!

That is really cute. Nice work! I don’t know how much space you have at the foot of the bed, but it appears that you have enough room where you could hang a paper roll off the top of the footboard and he could color on it (like an easel). Cool idea, great execution!

Awesome idea, nice colours. There can’t be bad moods by this bed.
