This is a serving tray I made for a friends birthday. She wanted a serving tray for the center of their kitchen table. She requested the Bloodwood frame, but since it would be on the table, I thought it needed to be a special design.
Thanks to Degoose and Dustbunny for the inspiration on the woven pattern. The woven design is Black Cherry, Bloodwood, Jatoba and Hard maple glued into the woven pattern then planed to 1/2”. It is surrounded with a Bloodwood frame with Jatoba miter keys then finished with Arm-R Seal gloss.

A great use of a good design. People won’t be saying “It’s too nice to use”!

I think that you have just made one of the most beautiful woven boards I have seen.. I also like the bloodwood frame and the splines.
