My wife and I are in the process of adding our own style to our first home. We are a little more rustic/industrial or shabby chic as they call it. We were able to get ahold of some really nice disassembled oak pallets through work. We washed, ripped, and added a few coats of poly to give these a little more finished look. We did keep some of the stains and character to some of the pallets.
We wanted to mount our tv and have a spot for all the components underneath. I routed the air duct through the front of the build out so we could maintain our heat and ac. Mitering the corners was a real challenge since the pallets had warped due to heavy loads and weather. They look fine at a distance and to the untrained eye they will suffice.

Wow! That is one of the finest pallet projects I’ve seen. If you had not said so I would never have thought they were pallets. Beautiful job.
