I made a live edge pen for The No Lathe Pen Challenge being run on YouTube, It is made from an as branch I cut from a tree that is destined to be hit my the tractor and hedge cutter as it is on a farm lane way. It was a really simple thing to make and it was fun!check out the video!

1.) Cute dog.
2.) Nice pen, imaginative design.
3.) Great video of your process.
4.) Next time please go a little easier on the tree – use the saw or even the hatchet. Hacking at it with the knife was painful to watch. :( Trees are our friends, they provide us with the raw materials for our projects. If you keep them happy and treat them with respect, they will reward you with beautiful wood. :)
If you treat them badly they will succumb to infestations and disease and the wood will be punky and useless. The tree spirits will be angry and yell at your artistic muse causing her to flee and you will never have a good project idea ever again. :o (Can you tell I’m taking a creative writing class?)
