A companion piece to Frankenbench (http://lumberjocks.com/replies/on/1586054/page/353 -post under projects later). Needs to be a chaise so both of us have a relaxed spot to read. Converts to a bench for additional seating when there’s company. Finally, provides more bookshelf space. Safe to say, it’s one of a kind.
Here’s a link to the longer story: http://smortegav.blogspot.com/2017/02/a-tale-of-two-benches-part-1-library.html
The last photo is to show its place in the living room. Except for the entry door, the upper windows and the two chairs in the foreground. I made and/or installed.

The cat seems to be saying, “this is my couch and don’t even think about asking me to move human!”
LOL

Great Idea !
You have some really cool built ins along the wall. The drawer idea I like within the wall.
Show us more of that room please ?

Great Couch/Bench/Chaise/Bookshelf/Frankenfurniture/whatever. I never have enough room for books and I like the easy conversion from bench to chaise. a great space saving innovation – and it is on wheels too! I also love the arts and crafts style, looks very comfortable looking, makes me want to curl up with a good book. Thanks for posting.

Thank everyone for the appreciative comments!
It’s his house- we’re just staff. All kidding aside, he’s a great cat. He was the youngest of the three cats we had at the start of 2016. Lost one to cancer early summer and our other to old age. It’s a good thing Andy decided to move in several years ago, otherwise it would have been much harder on us.
Thanks for your interest. I’ll post something on Projects section under Built Ins. I’m using the winter to catch up on write-ups of recent projects, but as the drawer built-ins were in the mid-90’s, it will be fun to revisit that project.
